Mission

The Naku Foundation protects critical Amazon rainforest and prevents cultural extinction by empowering Indigenous-led conservation. In partnership with the Sapara Nation—guardians of 914,289 acres of pristine rainforest and a UNESCO-recognized culture with fewer than 600 people remaining—we deliver measurable outcomes across four integrated pillars: Territorial Management (forest protection and monitoring), Regenerative Economy (sustainable livelihoods that prevent extractive development), Education (intercultural schooling and language revitalization), and Vitality (community healthcare systems). Our model demonstrates that Indigenous sovereignty is the most effective and cost-efficient strategy for climate action, biodiversity preservation, and cultural survival.

Vision

We are scaling a proven model where Indigenous communities become self-sufficient guardians of Earth's most critical ecosystems. By 2035, the Naku approach will protect 5 million acres of Amazon rainforest across multiple Indigenous territories, preserve endangered languages and knowledge systems that hold solutions to our climate crisis, and establish Indigenous-led conservation as the global gold standard—delivering measurable climate impact while honoring the rights and wisdom of those who have protected these lands for millennia.
